How a crime can be solved with the use of empathy.

In the serie "The psychology behind empathy" - Veronique Beauprez Yesterday I looked at  " The Blacklist" - NBC production where  a former U.S. Navy officer turned high-profile criminal, voluntarily surrenders to the FBI after eluding capture for decades. He tells the FBI that he has a list of the most dangerous criminals in the world that he has compiled over the years and is willing to inform on their operations in exchange for immunity from prosecution . A great show, really, especially when he turns everyone around with his selfconfidence and mindgames. Humour with twisted ingredients... On a certain moment he tells to the FBI people that they have to think and look into a case with the mind of a criminal. Pop-up questions arise: What would the "con" do? How would he operate when he was tailed by police? How are his connections with the victim? .... The empathy way of looking at things or people is here an asset. A criminal ...
